Today, Doug Ford introduced legislation to remove the rights of education workers to negotiate a fair deal. Here's the facts: Education workers earn an average of 39K a year. 2/3 are women. 1/3 rely on food banks to survive. 1/2 have a second job. They deserve better.

Solidarity w/ the Ontario education workers organizing for decent working conditions. Funds are always available for surveillance, jails, repression, while life affirming social needs are decimated. education is a social need and good and workers deserve our support right now.

Let's not forget that Ford had no issue giving 73 MPPs on his side of the House a pay bump of $16,000. But education workers earning $40,000 or less are greedy and unreasonable? Make it make sense, Doug Ford. #OntEd #39kIsNotEnough #ONpoli

Ford’s trampling of labour rights will set an awful precedent and threaten workers across the country. Everyone ought to stand up for labour. I make the case for Report on Business. theglobeandmail.com/business/comme…

#BREAKING: I've been removed from the House just now for calling Doug Ford a liar AKA A SPADE A SPADE. I guess some rules can't be broken in this place. But charter rules (i.e. HUMAN RIGHTS)? The gov't can trample over those nooo problem! SELECTIVITY AT ITS FINEST. #onpoli

It’s shocking to me that we’ve got MPPs in power here in Ontario that think they deserve the $16,000 raise they gave themselves earlier this year but don’t think CUPE education workers deserve a raise of just $3.25 per hour so they can afford to put food on the table.

If you're in Ontario and you're looking for a picket line, CUPE has your back. Every worker in this province, especially every unionized worker, should be on a picket line on Friday. cupe.on.ca/dontbeabully/

Avg. rent in the city is 2500/month, which is 30K/year. Avg. CUPE Ed worker salary is 39K/year. Remember who to be mad at if schools are closed due to a strike: blame falls squarely on the man denying early childhood educators and custodians the right to basic decent living.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if CUPE workers are essential to keeping schools open and kids in class…then they are also essential enough to receive a decent wage. I urge you: Support CUPE workers…and stand against starvation wages everywhere. #IStandWithCUPE

Hey Doug Ford you didn’t have the dignity to be in Queens Park to vote to strip the rights of education workers? It’s clear who needs new leadership- not the the unions but the people of Ontario. #AbsenteeLeader

I’m not saying there’s movement afoot to privatize Canada’s universal publicly funded healthcare system, but this is how you’d do it: 1️⃣ manufacture a crisis 2️⃣ obfuscate the blame 3️⃣ divide & conquer 4️⃣ provide knights in shining armour to save the day

Pediatric hospitals are limiting essential surgeries for children in operating rooms and we as adults are debating the discomfort of masking in malls.

I just don't understand the blank cheque request from Premiers on health care funding. Every single one of us working in provincial health systems are accountable to the public. Shirking accountability and rejecting better data will only set us back with Medicare on life support.

Naheed Dosani (@naheedd) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It’s wild that Doug Ford is now asking the federal government to give the provinces even more healthcare dollars with absolutely no strings attached...when he literally underspent on public healthcare in Ontario by $900 million during a healthcare crisis.
