every time I hear more about Tamilore Odunsi’s story, I get so sick to my stomach. She was so loved and intelligent. The fact that the housing complex placed her w/ a RANDOM 40 year old man, who had a VIOLENT misogynistic history is disgusting. I’m so disappointed in Houston.

this needs to open up bigger discussion about off campus housing for students in Houston. I went to UH, and their off campus housing, for students was allowed to be rented out by any Tom, Dick and Harry. That is not only unsafe but GREEDY.

My friend’s housing right near the school that was provided BY THE SCHOOL, would have drug busts, shootings and all sorts of violent crimes. I’ve never seen anything like that. Houston definitely doesn’t value its students. It’s not only a school problem but city problem.

Tami’s death was SO avoidable. I pray her family sues and gets justice. The complex claims they do background checks but conveniently did notice that the man had domestic violence cases and was just arrested in 2023 for violating a PROTECTIVE ORDER. that is beyond negligence.
