Excited to be starting my final semester of student teaching in a 1st Grade classroom at Butler Lab School 55! Feeling grateful to learn alongside inspiring educators in a space that breeds strong community and growth!

1st grade took a trip to Butler’s Observatory today to further our rock exploration study by learning more about the rocks in space! 🪨🪐 We visited the planetarium and watched the giant telescope in action 🔭 Such a fun and memorable day!

These creative first graders spent the day dressed as their favorite book characters. Such a fun celebration to end our week of character study!📚🤗

Allowing students to lead their own morning meeting for the class is so empowering! One way the students demonstrate leadership is through creating their own morning message to greet the class☺️

Exciting new provocations this week to get us talking about animals and their habitats!

Channeled our inner Andy Goldsworthy last week to create original sculptures using rock at a sandbar 🪨

In the season of thankfulness, we spent time today showing our gratitude for the Veterans in our community. My third graders were so excited to hear that their letters will be given out at the Speedway American Legion’s Veteran’s Day dinner tomorrow night! 🇺🇸

So fun to see my students not only immerse themselves in the study of a new culture, but to learn about Haiti from their very own classmates! Proud of their hard work and organization to make Multicultural Night so successful 🇭🇹
