Starting May 19, 2026, Roblox will be updating the requirements to make games public to all users (including Roblox Kids and Roblox Select): - Complete an age check - Be ID verified - Have 2-factor authentication setup - Have an active Roblox Plus subscription - Have an account

After 17 years on Roblox, this is one of the worst decisions I’ve seen. It pushes away indie devs who can’t afford subscriptions and puts success behind a paywall. This is the antithesis of what Roblox has been as a platform, being a creative space anyone could thrive in.

This is effectively killing kids ability to create a game on Roblox able to enjoyed by others. Requiring a subscription just for others to play your game is insane. If these requirements were a thing years ago then I doubt I would of ever started developing games in the first

Within 6 hours of this tweet being posted, about 10 of my developer friends deleted roblox studio. They didn't just say it, they actually quit for good. Since they were all developers with so much potential, I hope they can now pursue their dreams freely and peacefully elsewhere.

Please share this around, Mrmudman is one of the few artists on roblox who had an insanely popular and massive catalogue of clothing back in early 2010's Roblox Alot of his clothing inspired some of my works aswell, it sucks to see people be punished for actions 13 years ago
