Very impressed by the Imperial Enterprise Lab #VCC22 finalists pitching their startups. Two of the finalists tackling climate are FlexSea with their seaweed-derived plastic film and Sow Foods with their plant-based meat that reduces the consumer burden of choosing sustainable food

A green and climate-resilient #agriculture that reverses biodiversity loss, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and enhances #adaptation and resilience is essential to address climate change, poverty and hunger. #ForNature

The #climaterisk of flooding is not stopping buyers from paying top dollar for Florida homes. Coastal properties, many of which sit <1m above sea level, are unlikely to outlive their 30y mortgages without expensive adaptations like elevating foundations. theconversation.com/coastal-home-bโ€ฆ

Tune in to This Week in Startupsโ€™s new podcast where Molly Wood connects with Jason Jacobs from @mcjpod to discus Jacobโ€™s public exploration of climate change. Two of my favourite voices on climate-tech. Heed Mollyโ€™s warning and play this one at 1x speed!

Love this from WWF. Counting walruses in satellite imagery sounds like a great was to get kids interested in earth observation and climate change ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฆญ๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธwwf.org.uk/learn/walrus-fโ€ฆ

Emissions must peak in the next 3 years then reduce 43% by 2030. While I often break the narrative by calling for more #climateadaptation and resilliency building, we ofcourse need mitigation too. Yes, we can build sea walls but how big a bowl do you want to live in?

Imagine a future where you could order up a delicious T-Rex stake ๐Ÿฆ–. #culturedmeat startup Primeval Foods aren't quite doing Jurrassic Park Cafe, but they are asking, "if we can grow meat, why stick to chicken if you could have 100% cultured tiger?" primevalfoods.co/explore

In 2021, 14 cents in the VC dollar went into climate-tech, according to PwC. That was 3x the year before and Iโ€™m excited to find out what the 2022 figure will be!

Is anyone doing a cultured meat gravy? Seems like it would be an easy entry point. Thereโ€™s no need for a meaty texture and it would use only a small proportion of meat since gravy is mostly water.

There's really no limit to the applications of satellite remote sensing technologies! They're perhaps the most versatile tool in the #climatetech toolbox!
