It’s all straightforward from here: 2025: Musk forms new “Dumbass Party” 2026: Musk’s Dumbasses spoil hundreds of elections for Rs 2027: remaining Rs work with Dems to pass proportional representation bill, letting new parties compete without being spoilers 2028: nature heals

Stating the obvious but if everyone always responds to political violence by saying “see, he was part of the other side!” we’re never going to get out of this dark place

NEW: In the Democratic Primary for NYC Mayor, it all comes down to Andrew Cuomo vs. Zohran Mamdani. Mamdani's miracle? Or Cuomo's comeback? Borough by Borough, District by District, Neighborhood by Neighborhood, I go on the record with my prediction: michaellange.nyc/p/my-official-…

Put whatever views you may have about Mamdani’s politics aside for a moment: When was the last time you saw a candidate campaign like this?

NEW: Sen. Murkowski tells me, on the question of whether she'd consider becoming an independent & caucusing with the Dems if they pick up 3 seats in the midterms: "There may be that possibility," and, "There is some openness to exploring something different than the status quo."

One of many lessons here is that Mamdani and his team RAN the whole time. It’s so basic but hard to do. They believed in their case and ran hard with it. Worked around the clock months ago when hardly anyone else believed in it.

It’s actually genuinely inspiring that a city that went through a devastating attack at such a massive scale—and all the Islamophobic reaction to it—can overcome petty bigotry and still see a Muslim as one of them. That’s truly what cities are all about.

Revisiting this: his first big viral hit. What an incredible beginning to an incredible campaign. The platform consistency, the message discipline, the outreach and non-judgmental welcoming of people, the empathy for Gaza, the principles—it was all there from the start

I wrote in a 2021 NYU Law Review article that America's single-winner district system works against successful multiracial democracy and had outlived its usefulness. The logical solution: proportional representation. nyulawreview.org/issues/volume-…

No more navel gazing or infighting. We now have a clear task. Inform blue collar America Trump once again failed them. Let’s stand on wooden crates at tractor pulls and ask for the chance to go back in and save people’s healthcare, paid for by higher taxes on Trump and Musk.

next year of discourse: -people upset by bill passing make a few hyperbolic predictions -those things don't immediately happen -6-9 months of Centrist/Right wing scoffing at The Hysterical Derangement -some version of those things then happens a little later
