I have a driving licence to prove that I have passed a test to drive. I have a passport to prove my identity and nationality when I travel abroad. I don't need to prove who I am to anyone in my own country unless I choose to. I refuse to have a compulsory digital ID card.

Digital ID card policy should be a referendum. This is a quasi-constitutional issue, and the British public should vote on this separately. It’s a fundamental change in the state-citizen relationship. And we must not allow it.

Both Jeremy Corbyn and Rupert Lowe have come out strongly against Digital ID. Left and right object to massive state over-reach. Starmer is looking isolated and stupid.

You have to hand it to Keir Starmer . With his Digital ID scheme he’s achieved what nobody else in has managed in this modern times. He has united left and right. In loathing of him.

This is scandalous. They went after Darren Grimes for a far, far smaller sum. Teflon.

My biggest fear about Digital ID is, believe it or not, digital security. We live in an era of Cyber warfare, and I don’t want my details unethically obtained by large organisations (or other governments) for harvesting. We are a people, not barcodes. #SayNoToDigitalID
