seeing med students in the US celebrating finishing medschool, getting placed in their dream specialties in locations they wanted,whilst students in the UK are viewed as nothing more than numbers to fill rotas whilst simultaneously having worst training+pay. yeah i’m done UKFPO

I’ve done 6 years of medical training including an extra degree and was in the top 10% of the cohort last year, to get my 14th choice deanery and placeholder… for this to happen? #UKFPO

Blood sample needed to go to hospital lab on ice. Lab don’t provide ice. No ice in hospital apparently. So we’ve just sent a blood sample to the lab in a frozen cottage pie 👍🏼

I’m an upcoming F1 doctor. I’ve worked hard to do well in med school yet I’m still waiting for a job, in my 14th choice deanery, due to a new randomisation system. It’s likely I’ll be given a few weeks notice before I start my new job in a notoriously challenging sector.

Update: there are no jobs left for us, so we have been asked to re-rank areas (which are very large) within an already large deanery, with no further guidance. We are meant to start work on 1st August.

This saga remains absolutely disgraceful. It's such a contemptuous, uncaring way to treat our colleagues and we as a profession need to be doing so much better and taking ownership of this.

I worked straight through the entire pandemic on the front line and contracted Covid twice from hospital. @conservatives Rishi Sunak gave me a 25% pay cut, provided me with bin liners for protection & paid me with claps instead 👏 👏 👏 Kindly get in the bin
