By having students working on "vertical non-permanent surfaces", students are able to see, edit, and collaborate to solve problems. This is from Peter Liljedahl's research "Building Thinking Classrooms". Mrs. Walker is utilizing this with her 6th grade math students!

Our narrative writing unit is in full swing in 7th grade English classes. Yesterday we dove into characterization with a hands-on paper sort activity before adding in characterization to their stories. Building strong writers starts with strong characters!
