Professor Masuo Suzuki, Emeritus at the University of Tokyo, passed away on September 10, 2025, aged 88. He made seminal contributions to statistical physics, notably the Suzuki–Trotter decomposition. We deeply mourn his passing and extend our heartfelt condolences.

With Zhaokai Pan, Weiyuan Gong, and Tongyang Li, we study time-dependent Hamiltonian simulation in the low-energy subspace, achieving exponential reduction in dependence on system size for adiabatic state preparation. See arxiv.org/abs/2601.01550
