Always pleased too see tree-ring dates published in Vernacular Architecture. This year I'm amused to learn that Ye Olde Mitre Inne at Barnet is actually older (1538, 1546-78) than usually claimed (1633). That never happens with pubs! Its still not ye oldest in the country though!

Also at this meeting tomorrow the council will quietly end the curiously short lived ‘Places for Barnet’ partnership with developers, after spending £2m+ but building nothing. Questions have been submitted.

UPDATE: The planning inspectorate rejected their appeal. They have been told to reinstate the original shopfront in full! 🥳

When did Thomas come onto Farage’s radar as a potential leader in Wales? Could it be that other Reform members were told they were being considered for the role when Farage had already decided the role would be Thomas’s ✍️Martin Shipton nation.cymru/opinion/invest…

At last night's Barnet Cabinet meeting there was a total lack of clarity in response to public questions about the short lived joint venture with a private developer - £3m invested. Strangely, someone at Council offices, with a Barnet Capita phone, is checking my blog ...
