Thank you AACR for highlighting this important topic. We have a lot of work to do to change the current sex-neutral practice in dealing with almost all cancers of non-reproductive systems even though sex is clearly an important biological and clinical variable in cancer.

We previously showed that platelets repress T cell function via GARP-mediated activation of latent TGFb (PMID 28763790 and 31915300). The current two studies suggest that PGE2 released by activated platelets can also blunt anti-tumor CD8+ T cells.
