OLIVES MICRO-DUKE AWARD GROUP This week the group learnt how to wrap presents. I wonder who they will give theirs to?

Last week, the Olives explored different things that dissolve in water. We found that sugar and coffee dissolve in warm water, but the tea did not. We had lots of fun exploring and it got quite messy!

Scooter day in The Olives

OLIVES MICRO DUKE GROUP This week we have been learning how to draw people. The trick is to think of the body as a series of shapes, start at the top and work your way down.

The Olives had a very exciting trip to Waterstones to spend their WorldBook Day voucher. We also managed to retrieve our prior learning on road safety. Great job Olives 👏

Year 4 had a wonderful time at Derby Museum yesterday! We learned all about the Vikings and were so excited to see a real mummy. We can’t wait for our trip to Waterstones tomorrow!

Year 4’s trip to Waterstones was a resounding success. Two walking trips to town this week and still with plenty of energy to spare!

OLIVES MICRO-DUKE ENRICHMENT GROUP This week the group were thinking about looking after plants ready to complete their ECO Challenge. They’ve set up an investigation to see hoe water moves in plants.

OLIVES HAVE BEEN OUT AND ABOUT A great day was had by all the Olives on a train trip to Matlock Bath with a chip shop lunch. We had great service from East Midlands Trains and Riverside Fish and Chips in Matlock Bath.

The Olives have been making their own minibeasts.

YEAR 5 JUNIOR DUKE AWARD GROUP This week the group practised reading their chosen book Tracy to share with the Olives. They tried to make it entertaining by using different voices for the characters.

MASTERCHEF COMES TO ZAYTOUNA! The Junior Dukes put their culinary skills to the test today to make soup.

JUNIOR DUKE GROUP This week the group learnt how to set the table for a dinner party. The group also tried out some ideas for centre pieces

Learning to read in English at the age of 4/5 can be a challenge, leaning to read in Arabic as well is just …..AWESOME! Such an achievement from our youngest children. Well done Olives 💚

JUNIOR DUKES SILVER AWARD This week the group learnt how to sew a button. They then sewed the side seams to create a pouch .

Year 4 had an amazing time at Cadbury World yesterday! We learned all about the Mayan civilisation ready for our history lessons next half term and we even had a go on their new ride! We were also very excited to receive our chocolate freebies 😊
