Also, my grandpa John Zorbas passed away on this day 14 years ago.

Miss them a ton! May they rest in peace.

My new frame from Venice arrived! It’s beautifully crafted with real gold leaf. I love how there are no seams in the corners where the pieces of wood meet. I’m looking forward to making a new painting for it.

I recently finished a commission for my cousin Helene and her husband Bob! Bob hired me to make a painting that he would give Helene as a surprise gift for their wedding 50th wedding anniversary. It’s based on a photo from their wedding 50 years ago!

Here are some paintings of Venice by my favorite artist, Claude Monet. He visited there with his wife Alice in 1908 late in his career (68 years old). They stayed for 10 weeks where he produced 37 works of the city’s landmarks.

We took a nice tour through St. Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace in Venice.

Mark the Evangalist’s relics can be seen in this historic cathedral built only for the Doge. Doges or Dukes were the highest officials of the Republic of Venice for more than 1,000 years #italytravel
