With vital support from Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, World Food Programme is working to prevent & treat malnutrition of mothers & young children in #Ethiopia. With stunting rates in #Afar among the highest in 🇪🇹, hear from 🇬🇧 Amb. Darren Welch & Zlatan Milišić on why the UK’s partnership with World Food Programme is so crucial.

Today, World Food Programme DED Carl Skau, together with EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺 DG Maciej Popowski met with The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of #Ethiopia 🇪🇹 State Minister Mesganu Arga Moach | Ambassador - reaffirming their commitment to support the Govt of Ethiopia in responding to immediate humanitarian needs while advancing long-term resilience solutions.

A great pleasure welcoming World Food Programme DED Carl Skau & EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺 DG Maciej Popowski, who today embarked on a joint visit to Ethiopia to witness WFP operations firsthand. Look forward to sharing insightful discussions & charting the way forward in our exciting partnership with the 🇪🇺 in 🇪🇹.

Impressed by our World Food Programme team's tireless work to support Ethiopians. Two parallel realities in this fascinating country. WFP gives life-saving food & cash to the most vulnerable, but also longer term support so people can be self-reliant. Focusing on the people & getting things done

A powerful message from Carl Skau & Maciej Popowski after they recently met internally displaced families in #Tigray. EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺 provides incredible support to communities in #Ethiopia through World Food Programme cash assistance. ➡️

In the face of insecurity & significant funding shortfalls - World Food Programme has reached 3 million of #Ethiopia’s most vulnerable people with lifesaving food & nutrition assistance, since the start of this year. We will continue to do our utmost to meet the growing needs.

In Benishangul-Gumuz region, World Food Programme is supporting refugees from #Sudan with cash assistance to complement the food assistance they receive. This gives refugee families the choice to cover any other immediate needs & buy fresh food. Hear more from our colleague Frederick ▶️

Today, we had insightful discussions with Gov't partners who committed support to World Food Programme’s upcoming Country Strategic Plan 2025-2030. We look forward to rolling out our new strategic direction & continuing to work with the Gov't & partners in 🇪🇹 towards achieving Zero Hunger.

As we bid farewell to our wonderful colleague & DCD Jennifer - I would like to thank her for such incredible leadership & dedication to WFP Ethiopia Jennifer Bitonde, your vision & commitment to changing lives in the country made a lasting impact & touched the lives of so many.

In Amhara region of 🇪🇹, World Food Programme is working with partners to prevent & treat malnutrition for 300,000 mothers & children. We screen, follow-up & support those in most need with nutritionally fortified foods, helping keep families healthy & strong!

Last year, WFP Ethiopia reached 8.6 million people despite conflict, displacement, weather and economic shocks. Watch the video below to see what we accomplished. Thanks to the support from all of our donors who made this possible!

We’re grateful for the support we’ve received from our donors - but time is running out and we urgently need new funding commitments before millions are pushed further into hunger and malnutrition. Read this World Food Programme news update: wfp.org/news/wfp-warns…

The Logistics Cluster is the backbone of the humanitarian response in Ethiopia - delivering thousands of tons of food & other lifesaving supplies every week. This enables the Govt, WFP & all humanitarian actors to deliver to the most vulnerable people in the hardest to reach areas.

.World Food Programme is on the ground in Ethiopia, delivering essential food assistance to those most in need. Families like Abrehet's, who have been displaced, are receiving the support they desperately need. WFP needs more funding to keep supporting the most vulnerable communities in 🇪🇹.

Great meeting today with Amb. Radej of Slovenia 🇸🇮 to 🇪🇹. We discussed the importance of robust development solutions to strengthen resilience of communities across ETH. I am very much looking forward to our collaboration with Slovenia in Ethiopia!

Fruitful deliberations today with our cooperating partners in #Ethiopia on World Food Programme’s new strategic direction & priorities for 2025. Today’s dialogue strengthens our partnerships to save lives in emergencies & provide long term solutions for food security in 🇪🇹. Further, together!
