18 burn piles were complete in the Foresta Community 3/27/2024. Active burning has concluded for the week.

Since October, Yosemite fire crews have completed nearly 1,500 burn piles throughout the park, turning potential hazards into ashes.

Fire management is preparing to burn piles next week (March 11) in the Foresta and Wawona communities. Smoke will be noticeable during and after ignitions.

Pile burning has concluded for the week with an additional 76 piles complete. Active ignitions will resume next week, if conditions are favorable.

While Yosemite was turning into a winter wonderland, 46 piles were complete in Wawona. Active burning will resume next week in Wawona and the Merced Grove.
