Have you spotted the colourful Tansy beetle in the garden? It is part of a York Civic Trust and Make It York Trailblazers trail showcasing York changemakers. The beetle is celebrating Dr Delma Tomlin MBE - founder of NCEM and the first female Governor in 667 years.

There are 17 beetles in the city - pick up details of the trail from Make It York - all telling very different stories from music to poetry to gay pride. A fun day out for all the family thanks to York Civic Trust

Today is wind brace appreciation day: See the diamond shaped timbers? These are wind braces and tie the rafters of the roof together and prevent it from moving. This little feat of engineering which keeps our roof on dates to the 14th Century. All hail the mighty roof brace!

Bad news. It's the last week of the summer holidays. Good news. It's still the summer holidays! If you're in York and looking for something new to do, we are open all week (except Sunday). 😃
