Magical day at Los Angeles Unified ArtsFest! The #YouthLibertySquad received an award for the district for their arts advocacy and #ArtsJustice over the years. Students gifted Board Member Melvoin art in appreciation for his support of arts and mental health in the district.
I joined ACLU California Action at the “State of Black Education CA Report Card.” 70 yrs after Brown v Board of Education, CA has declining enrollment & segregated schools. But I'm proud to see so many advocates, students, parents & educators working to close the opportunity gap.
