I joined ACLU California Action at the “State of Black Education CA Report Card.” 70 yrs after Brown v Board of Education, CA has declining enrollment & segregated schools. But I'm proud to see so many advocates, students, parents & educators working to close the opportunity gap.

My #SB1348 will create a designation recognizing colleges & universities in CA that stand out for their commitments to serving Black students who are historically underrepresented on campuses. CA's "Black-Serving Institutions" will be a welcoming signal for prospective students.
