🚨 New from American Physical Society, it’s #PRXLife 🚨 Our #OpenAccess journal will feature interdisciplinary research related to physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, medicine and engineering. journals.aps.org/prxlife/
💬 We're excited to share the second feature of our two-part series on #OriginOfLife research: 🦠 "Unravelling the Origin of Life: Digging Deeper" ✍️🏽 Written by Angad Yuvraj, Harshwardhan Jain, #NayanChakraborty & edited by 𓆉 Siddharth Kankaria/ सिद्धार्थ कांकरिया (he/him) 💻 Read: news.ncbs.res.in/research-expla…
👏🏽 Congratulations to Yoshiya Matsubara (松原 嘉哉), Nobuto Takeuchi & Kunihiko Kaneko for their latest Physical Review Research paper: 📰 "Avoidance of error catastrophe via proofreading innate to template-directed polymerization" 💻 journals.aps.org/prresearch/abs…
🎉 Hearty congratulations to Dr Sandeep Ameta for joining Ashoka University as an Assistant Professor of Biology last week! 🔬 Sandeep Ameta was previously an independent Campus Fellow with us and worked closely with colleagues like Shashi Thutupalli & Sandeep Krishna at National Centre for Biological Sciences!
Excited to share our manuscript just accepted in Chemical Science. We identified an RNA oligomer that self-reproduces via prebiotically accessible chemistry by examining short random RNA pools. pubs.rsc.org/en/Content/Art… I will tweet again once the final version is published.
We’re looking for postdocs at the Simons Centre at National Centre for Biological Sciences. Those with backgrounds in Physics and Quantitative Sciences with a strong interest in Biology — both theorists and experimentalists —are encouraged to apply! Please help us spread the word.
The real star behind our Science Gallery Bengaluru exhibit at the Indiranagar Namma Metro statio (@cpronammametro). Nayan has been driving the ಜೀವಾಣು project with immense creativity and energy. Stay tuned for some interesting science updates (hopefully soon!)
Out now - a long simmering project: A minimal scenario for the origin of non-equilibrium order. arxiv.org/abs/2405.10911 Led by Riccardo Ravasio Riccardo Ravasio and Kabir Husain @kabir8husain (now at UCL); + fun collab with Constantine Evans, Rob Phillips, Jack Szostak Szostak Lab
Out today in J. Am. Chem. Soc., the Jack Szostak lab continues to unpack the complex world of RNA interactions, revealing how upstream oligonucleotides impact downstream binding. Szostak Lab HHMI @theserbianator pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…
