Latest in a project started with Noam Prywes what feels like ages ago. I'm now able to build these things with ease; oligos designed to (on paper) use imine bonds for sequence recognition & information transfer similar to H-bonds in nucleobases. J Org Chem/Org Lett pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
'You were always a star... The only thing better winning the #NobelPrize yourself is having one of your former students win it!' – Jack Szostak, Jennifer's mentor for her Ph.D. work Harvard University
Congratulations Doudna Lab for the Nobel! Fun fact: Jennifer is the first student in our lab to work on RNA.
The Nobel Prize
Science thrives on diversity. Efforts to increase gender and racial equity in chemistry should be amplified and celebrated. Angewandte Chemie recent editorial is reprehensible and does not reflect the values we must strive to uphold as a community. Jack is resigning from the board.
High-yielding prebiotic synthesis of purine deoxyribonucleosides and pyrimidine ribonucleosides. Further evidence for a common origin of DNA and RNA.
