Hello from UK! Finally out of quarantine and stepped into my new office! Very grateful for all the help from our department administrator Jackie and university HR team! My quick observation after two weeks in UK: the typical answer to "how are you doing" is "not bad not bad". You have to say it twice, say it fast and with a rising intonation. Am I right or am I right?

After being cancelled two times, I managed to find a flight from Manchester today. I am coming back home (Netherlands) for Christmas ☃️🎄 Overall, I have had exciting 22 days in UK, testing three times, quarantine, living on campus, home search, shipping delay, etc.

I didn't have time to take boorsterceshire (British way of saying booster) here, hopefully I can take it in NL, just to be consistent... Happy holidays everyone 🥳🥳🥳

A good day today :) Among all, one big news is that I am officially Dutch. Got the decision letter right before my morning class! Now time to practise the Wilhelmus which I will have to sing at the official meeting! Also time to find myself an orange outfit.
