Women's Aid NI were incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Prof Evan Stark.

Evan was a pioneer in the academic understanding of coercive control and visited NI with his wife over the years.

Our sincerest condolences to his family and friends at this most difficult time.

Today there was a special event at Stormont where the All Party Group on Domestic & Sexual Violence asked 'How far we've come, what next?' to help make our society better for victims & survivors of abuse🗣️

The decision to cut the core grant provided to 62 organisations by Department of Health has resulted in the loss of services to voluntary organisations who support the most vulnerable in our society together with loss of organisational sustainability for the future.
