Since the water industry was privatised, infrastructure investment has fallen by 15%, company debt has soared, and shareholders have been handed £72,000,000,000 in dividends.

Private interests have been put before the public good.

It's time to bring water into public ownership.

Caroline Lucas, 'Water companies had no debt when privatised. They have since borrowed £52 billion and paid £72 billion in dividends. Meanwhile we have a sewage scandal. Privatisation of water was a serious mistake and it needs to be permanently rectified.'

Thames water about to collapse according to sky news. Struggling Under 14bn of debit. To be clear they were debt free at privatisation. Paid dividends rather than investing. Board should be personally liable.

Water, gas, electricity, the National Grid, prisons, rail, and airports; every major Tory privatisation is a proven failure. And now they want to privatise the NHS.

Just to put issue into perspective;

Since 1991, it’s accrued a debt of £54billion.
In the same time, they’ve paid out £57billion to their shareholders.

Water companies have collectively taken on £60bn debt, since they were privatised in 1989. Thames Water alone has debt of £14bn.

They have just budgeted for fines and taken profit at the cost of polluting our rivers & seas.

Privatisation has failed. Nationalise water now.

One of the justifications for Thatcherite privatisation was that it 'transferred risk to the private sector'. We've now established that isn't true.

If the Daily Mail doesn’t report on an alleged traitor to the country…

And instead pays the alleged traitor £1m to write a column

…can we all justly conclude that the Daily Mail is a traitorous shit rag?

Right to Buy was the single most disastrous policy of Thatcher’s reign.

Social housing was decimated, and private landlords reaped the rewards.

Thatcherism is the cause — not the solution — to the housing crisis. We need mass council house building and rent controls instead.

Scottish Water was never privatised, it’s publicly owned. It is the most trusted utility in the UK, delivering cleaner rivers, lower bills and more investment per head.

Nationalised water works for you & the environment.

According to reports, Thames Water is about to go bust, and the govt is planning to use huge amounts of public money to bail them out.

Thames Water have dished out £1,600,000,000 to shareholders over the past 12 years - including £37.1m last year.

Privatisation is a TOTAL scam.

Arsenal bid £70m for Caicedo, the media labelled it embarrassing. Chelsea bid £60m for Caicedo, the media were silent.

Arsenal bid £90m for Rice, it was labelled disrespectful. City bid £90m for Rice, not a word.

Not sure which day, but at some point this week the Supreme Court will rule on student debt relief.

You should know that Justice Alito took unreported luxury fishing trips paid for by billionaire Paul Singer—the same billionaire funding the lawsuits against student debt relief.
