October’s #ObjectoftheMonth is a 19th century apple roasting oven. Apples would be placed on the top shelf and the drippings would fall into the tray below before pouring out the spout on the side. Visit the Society to learn more about this rare object!

Throughout the 19th century, turkey became a dish heavily associated Thanksgiving. November's #ObjectoftheMonth is this miniature toy turkey which dates to circa 1940. It is a small model of this holiday’s famed mascot before it is cooked and served in all its deliciousness.

Great day working with my students looking at primary sources from Wilton Historical Society! Students got to look at what their local community looked like during different time periods. It was fun to help them with their abstract thinking! MiddleWeb National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) #wiltonwayct
