This is a goal for the catchment-to-coast course @aeposte and I are developing and teaching next year at UiT Norges arktiske universitet. Great to find useful resources here. I hope the students will write in their native languages too. Extra challenging for us but totally worth it!
This year, Victoria Chraibi’s class Tarleton State University improved many aquatic Wikipedia articles including Chemocline (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemocline), Rapids (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapids), and Planktivore (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planktivo…). 👏more #free aquatic information! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapids#/m…
Thanks Limnology & Oceanography WikiProject for empowering #TarletonState students to use Wikipedia for #scicomm! Receiving constructive feedback from expert reviewers was their favorite part of the project. A warm welcome for our 🤠 grad students to the aquatic science community!
.Mike Vanni 's #limnology course Miami University filled in important information about how we study past records of inland waters by improving the Paleolimnology Wikipedia page (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paleolimn…) commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2016…
Today was sticker day in my Limnology class😊🐟💧Limnology & Oceanography WikiProject @waterbarnes
Read this new article in Frontiers - Education on how instructors used Wikipedia assignments and @[email protected] to teach critical thinking and scientific writing. You can do this too! frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…
Grateful to have been a part of this awesome group of instructors! Many thanks to Jolie Gareis and Dr. Erin Larson for leading the manuscript efforts, and to @[email protected] for their support of my course. If other UNC Pembroke profs want to try Wikipedia editing, please reach out!
