This is an exciting announcement: PicoMEM for Microchannel! Take my PS/2 Model 70 386 for example: it only has 3 slots. I imagine I can use the PicoMEM to replace the network card and McIDE-CF. This will also bring sound support to it!

Well this is just downright intriguing. VitruvianOS. Linux kernel with a BeOS / Haiku API compatibility layer. And its own display server (not X11 or Wayland). They just made their first real release (0.3)… and, judging by the issues on GitHub… it’s very, very Alpha. But

New patch for the Linux Kernel requires Age Verification when creating every file. He even went through the trouble to make actual code for it. Tested by “someone’s nephew”. 🤣

Took me almost a month, but it’s finally done. I completely rewrote the first chapter of linux-insides about the Linux kernel initialization process. Now it should be aligned with modern kernels (up to master). github.com/0xAX/linux-ins…

Tomoki Hasegawa They were for a while, Borland brought it down to sub $100 USD with Turbo C, which forced Microsoft's hand with QuickC. Sadly the 32bit stuff was super expensive back then. There was a Japanese port of GCC to MS-DOS that predates DJGPP too! github.com/neozeed/xmlibc
