St. Mura was born in Donegal 550 AD - 645 AD.  His feast day is celebrated today, 12th of March. The monastery at Fahan was founded St.Colmcille in the 6th century and he appointed St. Mura as first Abbot. 3 great relics remain. The cross slab Bachall Mura St Mura’s bell shrine

Paging West Inishowen H&HS . Check out the @VirtualTreasury partial reconstruction of the 1821 census of Desertegny. About 35% of the census survives, and is available here: virtualtreasury.ie/curated-collec…. More than 500 names survive for the parish (mostly Dohertys), and more to come, too.
