BREAKING NEWS
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2023 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus and Alexei I. Ekimov “for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots.”

This did not have to be a story about grit and overcoming challenges, demotion, surviving and reinventing yourself while being pushed out. Too many women share similar stories. Here’s to Katalin Kariko for speaking truth to power and for getting the recognition she damn well deserves

It's not that complicated. We can and should simultaneously celebrate Dr. Kariko for her ideas and persistence in the face of adversity, while acknowledging that she succeeded in spite of us, and realize it is our duty to do whatever we can to never let it happen again.
