Lived Experience (LE) is often used to describe childhood trauma, adversity, recovery, life challenges of even desistance, recovery, or healing recently. I suggest here that the way this is unfolding isn't all positive & I'm sure many will agree.

1) Some people with so-called LE are shaping their entire identities around the worst thing that happened to them. If those individuals don't achieve their goals, like many of us don't, could this feel like a rejection of their LE, not skills, knowledge & experience?

2) LE seems to have constructed capital in terms of a commodity for a chosen few. This seems to have developed into people claiming to have had experiences that means they can speak on behalf of groups with similar LE for capital. LE doesn't mandate us to do that!
