End of 2 periods, right back where we started. Both periods have seen 2 goals aside, this one with two PPG. SCSU has not trailed but also has not carried more than a 1 goal lead at any point. Pure survival mode for the Huskies at the end, need to ramp it up in period 3. 4-4.

Huskies couldn’t find the extra gear and fall 5-4 in OT. DU played well; hats off to ‘em. Season over. Still, hard not to be happy for UNO and (hopefully) CC getting their shot this week. Been a long time coming for those programs and it had to come at SCSU’s expense this season

Also, the fact that CC doesn’t make the dance, even though it’s math, is absurd. Based on play alone, they were arguably a top 10 team in the country in the second half. Losses to Augustana, ASU, Duluth, SCSU behind them But if you look at their schedule alone, hard to fathom

Meanwhile, UMass had a blemish to Vermont twice, Clarkson, Merrimack, UNH. On paper, seems like UMass’s losses were more significant and evident. But, playing top 6 teams in the country helps

Tigers are 9-9-1 vs Pairwise top 15. Minutemen are 1-8-2 vs top 15. And that single win was at home. CC is 21-13-3, UMass is 20-13-3. Feels like CC really should’ve had a crack at the field this season, but it wasn’t to be. The math made it heartbreakingly close.
