The end of the 2023-2024 municipal year marks a new start for our councillors. We give thanks to outgoing councillors Chris Haynes and Ellis Turrell for their tireless service to our city, and we welcome Sally Garner to our group for 2024-2025.

It's been a busy first week of the new municipal year for our group. Our Leader, Cllr Wendy Thompson, and our newly-elected Deputy Leader, Cllr Wendy Dalton, have been working hard to make this coming year a successful one πŸ’ͺπŸ”΅

Being an MP for the place I love has been the honour of my life. I look forward to hitting the campaign trail in Wolverhampton North East to speak about my track record, my values, and my vision for the future. The new seat now includes Short Heath and Willenhall North πŸ‘

Last Friday, our Tettenhall councillors sent a letter to Simon Foster, outlining the need for a police station in the village. We have been told that it could take up to six weeks for a reply. Safety in our city is a huge issue and we will push until a solution is found.

A number of our councillors attended the recent Civic Sunday ceremony. The annual event sees councillors confirm their commitment to serving the city, led by the Mayor. Councillors Thompson, Dalton, Garner, McNeil, Haynes (all pictured), Bennett and Crofts were all in attendance.

Today is World Blood Donor Day. Cllr Udey Singh donated blood for the 25th time last week, and encourages others to do the same: "It’s a small act of kindness that can have a huge impact on someone’s life." Check out how to donate at blood.co.uk

After trying to stop us from raising the motion all together, WolvesLabour councillors voted against asking the MHCLG for more funding tonight, which would've ensured our pensioners were able to claim any support. Our Conservative councillors did all they could to support you πŸ’”
