Did you know that there's enough food produced to feed every person on the planet? Despite this, millions like Elias struggle to feed themselves amid challenges like the #ElNino -induced drought.
🤝 Let's leverage our resources & knowledge to address the root causes of hunger.

With #ElNino worsening food insecurity in #Zimbabwe , farmers will rely on past harvests. Some may have to sell their long-tended livestock to stock food. We must use our resources wisely to combat post-harvest losses, as even small efforts matter greatly.

Private sector is key in #Zimbabwe ’s food security. We have invested in climate smart seed technologies. Together with Mercy Corps, World Food Programme is providing cash assistance to vulnerable families, ensuring they can weather the storm.

Since 2019, World Food Programme has been providing cash-based transfers to food-insecure urban households in Zimbabwe.

This allows recipients to access nutritious food & combat climate shocks like El Niño ⛈️
