The main thing I need for my science is TIME. I value stuff that buys me more time to think, create, hypothesize, read, write, and do. Anything that eats up my work time, especially detracting from the above, is a waste.

I feel exactly the same - and I suspect this is true for the vast majority of academic scientists. Our 'productivity lifespan' is eroded by the cancerous growth of administrative bureaucracy.
