Late Night with the Devil is a fun little horror film. Whilst the opening exposition is a bit clunky, it does a good job of recreating the 1970s late night show environment. David Dastmalchian is excellent as Jack Delroy and really sells the whole project. Would recommend.

So sorry to learn this tragic news. It was a joy and privilege to work with Brian McCardie. Off screen Brian couldn’t have been more different from the character he portrayed. Brian was warm, funny and charming. Sending deepest condolences to his family. bbc.com/news/articles/…

I'm reading about medieval Gaelic personal names and apparently the name BEAN is a diminutive or pet form of MACBETH. Which has frankly huge implications for Shakespeare and Mr Bean.

Both The Bill and Heartbeat are kinda fascinating to look back on in retrospect. Both incredibly long running and managing to balance multi episode storylines with an easy to dip in anthology approach as well, sorely missed in the TV schedule.

📑 Our new paper looks at the safety of assisted dying laws in the USA and Australia.

🤝 It finds they are safe and that palliative care is often improved as a result.

🇮🇲 It includes a foreword by Dr Alex Allinson highlighting progress in the Isle of Man.

Very sad to learn of CJ Sansom's death. One of the finest contemporary writers of historic fiction. Always impeccably researched, his novels would make you obsess about the time-period, and you'd then marvel at the effort he'd put into recreating Tudor England, pockmarks and all

Just watched Charade again for the first time in years. A stunning, stylish, witty film, Grant and Hepburn on top form, it really is the best Hitchcock film Hitchcock never made.
