April 4th - the EU in Sierra Leone -funded #WACOMP_SL 🇸🇱UNIDO Farmers in Kenema receive training about pest and disease management in #cocoa #farms. Due to #climate #change black pod disease is high in cocoa and spreads fast, farmers must maintain weekly removal to reduce loss.

April 15th the EU in Sierra Leone -funded #WACOMP_SL 🇸🇱 UNIDO team were in Pujehun district at Tegloma #cassava #cooperative witnessing #internal #audits for implementation of #GlobalG.A.P #primary #farm #assurance. The audits were completed by farmer support officers from Kenema.

April 17th EU in Sierra Leone funded #WACOMP_SL🇸🇱UNIDO team were in Kenema district monitoring the centralised cocoa nursery's developed under the farmer coaching initiative. Farmers have learnt organic pest and disease management, leading to healthy plants ready for transplanting

May 6th EU in Sierra Leone funded #WACOMP_SL🇸🇱 UNIDO team visited Saahun #cocoa community in Kenema district to hold a revision training on #Good #agricultural #practices in line with the strategy for transforming #quality in #Sierra #Leone
