In 1918 #Stonehenge was gifted to the nation, not ⁦@HighwaysEngland⁩ by Sir Cecil Chubb- a barrister. The gift has strict conditions in line with the restrictive covenants in the deeds to protect its integrity. Why haven’t these been disclosed? bbc.com/news/uk-englan…

Another great Summer bag from Brakeburn which is proving very popular, the yellow Allium tote with zip closing top made from durable coated cotton so even if you’re caught in a light shower this bag will still look good #totebag #alliums #yellowbag #yell… bit.ly/2DO2cWd

Trying to avoid costly investigation into harm the #StonehengeTunnel could have on the water table at Amesbury @A303Stonehenge have told Planning Inspectorate that #BlickMead spring was “dry” in June. This video taken on 18/6/19 confirms otherwise & the need for proper hydrogeology. Please RT

If you have ever wondered why we make such a fuss about the importance of Blick Mead and the risk it is under with the plans for the A303, set your timers to watch this when it broadcasts later in the month. facebook.com/29194481004/po…

On 1st May 2012 Wiltshire’s Mayors met HM the Queen & Prince Philip at Salisbury Cathedral. I remember fondly the humour in the conversations. Shortly before this picture Prince Philip had asked me how I could possibly have been the Mayor of “Stonehenge” when “they have no residents”

The 11th Solstice lantern procession takes place today. Starting with the ceremonial lighting of the solstice lantern at Stonehenge as sun sets & a walk through Visit Amesbury to the magical grounds of Amesbury Abbey to see the lantern holding the light until mid winters day.

Here’s a couple great photos from the moving celebration of mid winter at Visit Amesbury after lighting the Solstice Lantern at Stonehenge on 20th December 2021 and Mary, the Solstice fairy (lantern bearer) pictures taken by Tom Lyons.
