With all eyes on Westminster, I thought I'd offer you a view of London in June 1841 before the Houses of Parliament were even built. I've cleaned-up this old salt print photograph taken 183 years ago by William Fox Talbot, from the window of his flat in Cecil Street. The original

*sighs*…. In the Lakes you can have a farm worth millions on paper, and earn less than the minimum wage. If you have to sell it to pay IHT, the farm will go into the hands of massive corporate types. This reduces food production, harms the environment and is simply unjust.

Pretty flippin big news! Over 2 years ago we agreed to buy this old bank in Stromness, Orkney. After much delay, we finally picked up the keys yesterday! We open in spring '25 when you'll be able to join us for coffee, cake, bookbinding, prints, bags and other handmade goodness.

I captured the entire "Planetary Parade" using my 11" telescope, and combined everything into one composite photo that stayed true to the angular scale of these objects. Made entirely with real photos, I hope this composite helps illustrate the scale of these things!

Grok is super cool. It helped me identify this obscure handmade paper which was used by Picasso to make his La Chèvre print on in 1952. You can read more about this super rare paper here vintagepaper.co/collections/18… Turns out ai can be pretty helpful, even for nerdy nerds.

It is mind-boggling to think these tunnels under Piccadilly Circus tube station were built in 1906, and the elaborate station complex above it, complete with escalators and deep lifts, in 1928. And it is still in operation today. #London

I'm a Brit but I love America. I have never had any time for anti-Americanism. America is a brilliant country with brilliant people who've given the world so much - not least their cultural exports which are integral to Western culture. It's certainly been central to my
