#ICYMI New research from the IOI & @SpillerLab found colistin-resistant bacteria in mothers and newborn babies in several hospitals in Nigeria from 2015-2017, despite limited clinical use of colistin at that time. 📽️Watch the video and find out more👉 ineosoxford.ox.ac.uk/news/reservoir…

We often hear people think that #groupBstrep is only an issue while in labor. But that is not the case. GBS can cause issues with people no longer pregnant or people who have never been pregnant.

Learning your baby's movements is a great way to connect with and learn about your baby's routine. Noting variations can provide insight into other issues like prenatal infections! #GroupBStrep

What is a parent called who loses a child? Many parents struggle with this new identity, one that for a long time did not have a name. One mother decided to give "a 'name', for the complete unthinkable" #Vilomah #groupBstrep

Anyone can carry #groupBstrep and it is naturally occurring in both men and women. About 1 in 4 pregnant women "carry" or are "colonized" with GBS. Carrying GBS or testing GBS+ does not mean you are infected, but it can potentially cause an infection in your baby.
