🇦🇹 Stumbled upon this alpine dairy at 1850 meters in the Austrian alps. The cattle have headed down to the valley bottom for the winter now.

A spectacular day at the Aschensee almabtrieb. Every year the cattle are marched down from their summer grazing up in the mountains to lower ground for the winter. If none of the animals have come to any harm the herd is decorated with fancy garlands for the walk home.

Some more Slovenian hay drying racks. This time they are toplarji, a double hayrack typical of the Bohinj region. The ones pictured here date sometime between the 18th and 19th centuries!

Holy wow! Never thought I'd see the day that nature recovery was a priority for local government. Excellent! There are so many people pushing to do great things in the Liverpool city region, fantastic to hear an official push for nature recovery!
