Women's History Month is an annual observance during the month of March. International Women's Day is on March 8.

National Volunteer Month is an annual observance during the month of April. This month is dedicated to honoring all of the United Way volunteers in our communities and encourages volunteerism throughout the month.

Today, UWCA participated in The Bridge Drop In Center’s “Shower Me with Care Homeless" event. Team members issued towels, toiletries, and snacks to homelessness individuals. The Drop-In center provides access to mental health assessments and individual therapy (on-site).

On April 26 UWCA participated in Pearl Day in the Park. Team members hosted a tent at Pearl City Park to distribute books to Rankin County children in our efforts to improve student learning. United Way is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge.

On April 29 UWCA partnered with Mississippi Dept of Employment Security for the 2025 Central MS Employment Expo. The job fair was held at the MS Trade Mart and provided a platform for Jackson area job seekers to network, secure employment opportunities and gain career insight.

On May 7, 2025, UWCA - Youth United wrapped up an incredible year with a special celebration at The Capital Club of Jackson. This inspiring event honored the leadership and dedication of our amazing Youth Ambassadors from Hinds, Madison, and Rankin counties.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. We realize that mental health support takes a village! That’s why we work with local organizations to help people meet basic needs, like food, shelter, employment and access to healthcare.
