Big day today seeing my son Ben at his pass out parade, a day all Firefighters remember, going from a ‘trainee’ Firefighter to a Firefighter.

A third generation Firefighter, from the early 1970s and now, to Bens career keeping the family traditional going.

Today we see politicians remembering fallen firefighters, I’d rather have them fund fire services adequately to reduce these terrifying stats!

Firefighters across the region have today observed a minute silence to honour the sacrifice of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty, acknowledging the courage and dedication of generations of firefighters.

A day of branch meetings across FBU Southern Region 12 today, finishing at Abingdon fire station tonight, discussing the latest Pay offer from the employers.

Good to hear the views on the different aspects of the offer, important to have those discussions.

Totally agree Gareth Tovey, South Wales firefighters are quite rightly concerned about what is going on and members were absolutely right to pass this motion and vote of no confidence.
