Two inaugural awards were also handed out at the symposium. Congratulations to Level 5 HND Mechanical Engineering student, Hannah Wilkinson who won the fantasy research project. And BSc (Hons) Computing student, Chris Allen won the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology Student of the Year Award.
Yesterday, our Greater Manchester Institute of Technology Nuclear Degree apprentices had the opportunity to have a fantastic tour around the Siemens factory in Congleton. Deputy Head of HE Engineering, Martin Craig said: "It was useful to see principles of Lean Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 in action.

Today, our BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS (School-Based) students, in partnership with Edge Hill University, welcomed a guest from @voice21oray for an introductory talk on oracy education. This afternoon, they will visit Kew Woods Primary Primary School to observe oracy education in action.

Today, our HND Sport & Exercise Science students have been at Burnley College to use the cryotherapy and altitude chambers. They monitored the physiological effects of exercise in extreme climates relating to their exercise physiology unit.

Another interesting Friday afternoon practical for our BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS (School-Based) students, in partnership with Edge Hill University. They enjoyed making ‘chocolate rocks,’ a classroom to help children understand the formation of sedimentary and metamorphic rocks.
