Our group at UZH Physik-Institut in Zurich is hiring! We have open positions in cond-mat theory, focusing on topological matter and metamaterials, which can be started between Oct 2023 and Apr 2024. More info: 2x PhD: physik.uzh.ch/dam/jcr:209b0b… 1x Postdoc: physik.uzh.ch/dam/jcr:1e41c1…
Join me in welcoming Zoltán Guba as a new PhD student in our group at UZH Physik-Institut ! Zoltán will investigate robustness and fingerprints of refined topological invariants beyond TQC/symmetry indicators. Have a great start, Zoli! I am looking forward to our collaboration!
Excited that Wolfram community moderators came across the code for our Nature Communications work on electric-circuit simulation of hyperbolic space — and featured it as a "staff pick"! Check out the cool figures!😎 community.wolfram.com/groups/-/m/t/3… Original work: nature.com/articles/s4146…
Fantastic news! Our former PhD student Patrick Lenggenhager (now postdoctoral fellow at MPI-PKS Dresden working with Marin Bukov ) will receive the ETH Medal for his "outstanding doctoral thesis". This recognition is absolutely well deserved. Congratulations, Patrick!👏
The Wolfram community moderators asked us to write a short blog about our HyperBloch package for computing spectra of hyperbolic lattices. You can read it here! community.wolfram.com/groups/-/m/t/3… See also our Getting Started guide patrick-lenggenhager.github.io/software/2024/… Thx to Patrick for writing both!
Congratulations Zoltán Guba on your first publication! 👏
Can the second Chern number be realized in a two-dimensional plane? Yes, it can - you just need to curve the plane! Our work on "Hyperbolic Non-Abelian Semimetal" about a 2D nodal semimetal stabilized by second Chern number just appeared in Physical Review Letters. journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/1…
