Important study from France (bit.ly/2mUFlzt) revealed that the apparent increase in HCC incidence in cirrhotics treated with DAAs compared with IFN therapy is explained by patient characteristics (age, diabetes, liver function) and less screening.

A worldwide study demonstrated that 34% of infections in cirrhosis are caused by multidrug resistant bacteria (MRB) bit.ly/2PEWGs0. These infections cause more frequently ALCF and death. Local antibiotic policies to reduce the rate of MRB are mandatory.
