The pathways to adolescent pregnancy identified patterns driving adolescent pregnancy in #LaoPDR incl. those determined by their relationship- marital status, the extent of the girls’ autonomy in decision making & whether the context of sex leading to the pregnancy was consensual

Adolescent pregnancy remains a critical concern in #SEA incl. 🇱🇦 🇰🇭 🇮🇩 🇲🇾, hampering girls’ ability to pursue their aspirations. The Study on ‘Pathways to Adolescent Pregnancy’ points out the need for ensuring access to youth friendly #SRH services, #CSE & girls' empowerment.

UNICEF Laos & UNFPA Lao PDR launched the study report - 'Pathways to Adolescent Pregnancy in Southeast Asia'. The study was undertaken in 2023 covering Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia & #LaoPDR with the support from UNFPA Asia and the Pacific & Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade 🇦🇺 in collaboration with the Burnet Institute.
