FIDA-Kenya conducted training for community paralegals, elders, religious leaders, police gender desk focal persons, and CSO representatives on implementing the Legal Aid Act and the AJS Policy. The participants gained a comprehensive understanding of these laws and policies.

The meeting held at the Ministry headquarters in Nairobi received updates on the implementation status of the Sound Management of Mercury in Kenya's Artisanal & Small Scale Gold Miners Gold Kenya Project covering the 2024 Workplan as well as engagement with Impact Facility.

IMKA GOLD is a GEF-6 project implemented by UNDP Kenya and executed by the Ministry of Environment with the aim of enhancing the productivity of artisanal gold miners in Kakamega, Vihiga, Migori, and Narok Counties.

This will be achieved through provision of technical assistance, technology transfer, establishment of public private partnerships and facilitating access to financing for the purchase of mercury-free processing equipment.
