Great presentation from UNC IMS PhD student Joshua Himmelstein on incorporating drones into coastal research. I also presented on utilizing drone data in marsh restoration planning. CARDNL conducting prescribed fire research at Konza Prairie Biological Station in Kansas this week. Assisting @EPAresearch to study emission factors from large watershed burns and sampling with a second drone several km downwind of the fire for plume modeling.UNC Institute for the Environment



Marsh madness! Our lab had a fantastic field week in Currituck Sound, NC- drones surveyed from above while field teams took measurements below. This NC Collaboratory funded project explores habitat restoration in this historic hub for fishing and waterfowl hunting.
