On the 70th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Ed, it's a privilege to honor Univ. of Maryland's first Black graduate, Elaine Johnson Coates. She's a UMD College of Education grad, and last night we unveiled a portrait that will hang in our building. I'm proud to be part of her legacy.
