Let's try as much as possible to protect ourselves and those around us from #COVID19 by making use of common sense precautionary measures as provided by the Ministry of Health- Uganda. #STAYSAFEUG #StayHomeStaySafe Thank you.

There's absolutely no doubt that a crisis like this calls for clear authoritative decisions. I entirely agree with the Ministry of Health on the measure of staying home as a precaution to the #COVIDー19 pandemic. 1/4

However, in deciding so, Gov't should have considered the enormous human cost of staying home; especially for the socioeconomically vulnerable, and laid down welfare policies or relief measures that protect their livelihood - The good news is that, this is still possible. 3/4

On the other side, inhumane punishment of citizens struggling to make ends meet-with no hope of government relief- is archaic & unreasonable! 4/4

1. As a matter of practice, women are routinely involved in unpaid care work, & this virus adds to the burden; they will bear much of the responsibility of caring for their children (now that there's closure of schools), the elderly, and relatives with the virus.

We all have roles to play to ensure gendered impacts of #COVIDー19 are minimised; exposing these realities on this and many more social platforms is a plus to this fight. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Hon.Minister, I'm concerned that Uganda Christian University (Official) was not given opportunity to present their case in regards to the complaints raised; it's not only important but fair and just that both parties are heard. The result would have possibly been different. Hon. Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga

This year's Easter comes at a very difficult time, our prayer is that all this comes to an end very soon. May the Almighty God keep us safe as we all adhere to the guidelines put in place. Stay blessed 🙏#StayHomeSaveLives

Very kind of you my daughter Edrine K Music. A young woman in her senior five at Bwera SS; advocating for girl child education; fighting against early marriages. Edrine is the voice behind a song titled, "Get off my way" (youtube.com/watch?v=EIh7-b…) @RaisingTeensUg1 UNDP Uganda 1/3

In times like this, experience has shown that young girls are more vulnerable to sexual abuse & consequently drop out of school. We are receiving complaints of selling sex for food already, & it is a threat to the strides made towards girl child education.Plan International Uganda UNESCO 🏛️ #Education #Sciences #Culture 🇺🇳

I think the lack of resources and independent mobility has been key because it does not allow for independent research. They have also been bombarded by a lot of the narratives you mention and they are now acting like transmitters not reporters. #HaveYourSay Uganda Law Society
