Alarmed by escalating violence and destruction in the West Bank and the number of casualties, notably in Nour Shams refugee camp in #Tulkarem over the weekend. De-escalation is urgently needed. West Bank stability is essential to keep alive prospects of peace.🕊️

Appalled by the Israeli strike on a residential apartment in the densely populated Rafah in Gaza, which resulted in more children being killed.
 
We must stop this fighting immediately and bring an end to this conflict.

The Foreign Secretary's Representative for Humanitarian Affairs Mark Bryson-Richardson has seen first-hand how UK-funded aid is making its way through Jordan's humanitarian land corridor from Amman and on to Gaza⤵️

More than 8,000 patients have been treated at UK-Med’s field hospital in Gaza, funded by UK Aid, since March.

This includes a high proportion of children, as well as evacuees from the north.

Iran’s attack last night was a dangerous and unnecessary escalation.

I want to pay tribute to the professionalism and bravery of the Royal Air Force and our allies in protecting civilians.

Today I formally condemned in the strongest terms Iran’s attack on Israel in a call with Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian.

I made clear that Iran must stop these reckless attacks, de-escalate and release the MSC Aries.
